Civil War arriving, finally, in U.S. theaters this week, the hype is real and critics and audiences everywhere are gushing about the superhero epic, with one noticeable stand out mentioned in every review: Spider-Man. Collider’s own Haleigh Foutch sat down with Marvel Head Honcho Kevin Feige to talk all things Civil War and Spider-Man. Feige already confirmed that Marvel would be in charge of the creative side of things with Sony handling distribution. But one thing fans are wondering is whether or not the stand alone Spider-Man would take place before or after Civil War. Feige clarified that the stand alone would in fact take place after the events in Civil War and would not rehash an origin story again but instead, operate on the assumption that movie going audiences know enough to still enjoy his story.

The theatrical release date for the actual film adaptation has been scheduled for July 28, 2017.
